Oh no! I fell in the @obsidian rabbit hole and now I'm having ideas … 😱Nicole van der Hoeven (@nicole; https://youtube.com/@nicolevdh) has some cool, practical videos (also if you are into #ttrpg and want to organize your game notes). I'm also thinking about combining Obsidian with #11ty / #eleventy. 🤔

@frederic @obsidian Oh no, not IDEAS! ;) Glad you're liking the TTRPG stuff. I'm actually having my DM on my channel this Friday to compare notes (literally, since he uses Obsidian too). And I use Obsidian with my Hugo website!

@frederic @obsidian @nicole I always leave that link in such cases https://www.seekingtribe.com/p/our-embarrassment-of-riches-information I should write a bot for that 🤔

@mene @obsidian @nicole I'm not really into those super hyped methods like "Second Brain", Zettelkasten or highly complex note clouds. Seems to be useful for some (at least for content creators producing dozens of videos about it).But I already have various things I have notes on (todos, work, projects, ideas) which are floating around my disk in various levels of structure (spoiler: mostly very little). It helps me getting things out of my mind and be able to come back later to it.

@mene @obsidian @nicole What I want to improve is finding the right stuff again at the right time and turn all those loose ideas into something I can actually work with. And Nicole's videos gave me some great inspiration how to achieve that without too much fuzz.I also like that her videos are more down to earth and not in this obnoxious "YoU aRe DoInG yOuR nOtEz WrOnG!!11" style other YouTubers use when it comes to Obsidian. 👍

@frederic @mene @obsidian I'm glad that comes across. I never want people to think there's a right or wrong way to take notes! The videos I make are about what I like to do for fun (yes, I do find note taking fun) and for my own peace of mind. My job can be difficult sometimes, so my PKM system is just my way of keeping up with things I have to do and doing them well. I hope people take what's useful and tweak it to fit their own use cases!

@frederic obsidian is awesome. And @nicole|s video inspired me to change my daily workflow and how to use obsidian as my second brain and todo app.

@frederic @obsidian @nicole I've been slowly dipping my toes in. I want to see if I can replace Notion with it. I like Notion a lot, but the portability of everything being in Markdown appeals to me.

@rivetgeek @frederic @obsidian Hey, welcome! I also used Notion for a while. It's still a great tool, and they're definitely releasing new features very quickly as well, which is nice to see. The local Markdown was definitely one of the things I liked about Obsidian. Maybe worth a quick look to see if it might suit your needs.

@nicole @frederic @obsidian I didn't mean to say that your videos are bad in any way, sorry if that came off wrongly!Yet I think the article has a very important point: it may feel productive, but if you have no reason to do so it's prone to be an illusion, and it's easy to land in a rabbit hole of trying yet another plugin etc. Enjoying to process is a great reason of course.I'm a note taker myself (sounds similar to what @frederic intends) and found value in the results more than once

@nicole @frederic @obsidian How are you handling the wiki links from Obsidian to Hugo? I was thinking about doing a similar workflow for a project….My initial thought was writing a python script to convert prior to hugo compile, but curious what other people might be doing in a similar situation.

@kidgruesome @frederic @obsidian I went for a simpler solution... the vault I created for the site uses Markdown links instead of wikilinks. :D
