       I still think that it is politically rather naive to believe that people, mainly from the US which is the largest group on Twitter, would just abandon it cause of the takeover.The same goes for particular groups such journalists, or academics. And the same goes for agencies and/or larger organizations.

       @afouxenidis I do too. I also think that maybe only certain folks with particular experiences will be able to make the transition to the Fediverse.  It takes a bit before the local timeline becomes interesting. If you have experiences with the early (ish) Internet, you may be more likely to stick it out over here.
