       @linuxphoneapps I think I even ran into one or two apps that would have been available for aarch64 that way but I just build them manually but some people seem to actually use them.

       @linuxphoneapps Flatpaks just feel like the right thing because Snaps are more like an Ubuntu specific semi-closed thing. Even Ubuntu Touch uses click packages instead of snaps.

       Looking at the current state of this poll, it looks like it may not be worth it to add Snaps to LinuxPhoneApps.org app listings.If you want to change my mind, please tell me which #Snaps you are using!

       @linuxphoneapps I was one of the people who said that I'm not using snaps on my Linux phone, and it's true, however... I'm not using any snaps just because I haven't yet found an app I want to use that's packaged as a snap. I would use it if I did. If you don't add snaps to the directory though, then there may be a stack of valuable apps that people never find.

       @linuxphoneapps I don't like snaps, and part of the reason I stopped using Ubuntu was them forcing things I use to only be available in snaps.

       @linuxphoneapps if part of the point of the list is to make apps more discoverable then I think it makes sense to include them.If you don't then maybe it's not such a useful list

       @Blort One goal of the poll was to surface examples. With #snaps not being listed on sites like pkgs.org or repology.org, it's not easy to find them - search on snapcraft.io is also not great to find the few GUI snaps that are available for aarch64.So far, none has come up. I vaguely recall trying Snaps for Cpod and AuthPass, IIRC at least one of them would not launch and complain about wrong architecture.

       @Blort So: If there's one example, we'll add it (while it's still easy and does not involve touching 400+ files), if not, I'll flip a coin.

       @linuxphoneapps I maintain a few Snaps and would like more people to use them, also on phones, but then again there's nothing we can do with anyone (and I mean *anyone*) being stubborn about... packaging formats. It's a touchy subject for some reason and causes people to hate on developers choosing one over another. A stupid situation the whole of FLOSS got itself into.

       @linuxphoneapps are snaps available for linux smartphones at all?last I heard it was not possible for some reason to install snaps on mobile linux distros like postmarketos.

       @ManuelBoe This is true, but there are other distributions based on Debian or Arch Linux, where Snaps can run. Like with the other package formats, unfortunately not nearly everything that's available for Intel/AMD is available for ARM though.

       @linuxphoneapps @ManuelBoe You can install Snap on those distros yes, but without _any_ sandboxing which is kinda the point for choosing such a format. That's only available for Ubuntu with out-of-tree patches for things like Apparmor

       @bart @ManuelBoe I wasn't aware that out-of-tree patches are needed - that's really embarassing for Canonical IMHO.
