@pernia Personal hypermedia thing Apple made back in like 1987 which allowed regular users to make self-contained "stacks" and share them on disk or over the network. Very popular in its day and had some very big stuff written in it (like Myst) before it was eventually axed when Jobs came back to the company in 1998.

@pernia Apple from 1985 (the year Jobs was demoted and kicked out) to 1997 (the year Apple bought NeXT and Jobs seized control again). They did *a lot* of very interesting off the wall stuff in that interim and much of it isn't well documented in any single place. Also ended up having a bunch of consequential second order effects as well like the creation of ARM and PowerPC as independent entities, BeOS being a thing (thus Haiku), and the whole Taligent boondoggle. I also find NeXT interesting, but for different reasons.

@netdoll @pernia i see a utility in this software for self organization of nonlinear thoughts or journaling and i often use colors in that context. normally im using graph software or doodling in html and being able to toss together a hypertext document without writing a bunch of code is something ive wanted for a while. so for some projects made for this thing i can see the color obstacle not being that big of a deal but its sort of stretching it for my usage
