#TIL how to get a word count from all files in a directory (including those in sub-folders) from the terminal:```find . -type f -exec wc -w {} + | tail -n1```... through which I also learned that in my main @obsidian vault, I have written 584,540,542 words. :O

@nicole find has to be in my top three, next to vim and tmuxI use it almost every day, -exec is great because it's just map() for your filesystem

@nicole I always overlook `find`, I think the slight differences in syntax between it and other *nix tools was holding me back. I need to get more familiar with it and stop trying to cobble things together using grep and ls.

@curtismchale Yeah, I actually use that in my other vault but it hasn't been working for me recently. Haven't yet done the tinkering around to figure out what it's not playing well with.

@nicole that will pick up all files though; do you have images or other things as well?```find . -name \*.md -exec wc -w {} + | tail -n1```the `-type f`one, for me, output 6,583,732 whereas the `-name` one output 713,164
