@tim @liztai @emmah ChatGPT produces junk. There’s no poetry or subtlety to what it spits out. It’s bland prose with no irony, symbolism, or meaning. Yet people eat it up. Say it’s the greatest thing. I’m pissed because AI’s can’t write or produce art. They just mimic it. There’s no internal meaning to anything they produce

@caycepollard @tim @emmah I don't think our craft will become obsolete, but it will certainly weed out people who are not intensely passionate/serious about the craft. Meaning, those who think they can earn a quick buck with some copy ...I'm mad, nevertheless. I'm tired of my craft being devalued constantly.

@liztai There are people writing books with ChatGPT and then selling them on Amazon. It’s sickening. I agree it’ll weed out the amateurs, but I have no faith in the general public. They’ll buy these books. Read them. The impassioned will be imboldened and the passionate, talented writers will be ignored. Intellectualism is a curse. People don’t want to read complex, smart writing. They want to TL:DR version. Social media, in part, is guilty for causing this. People are dumb@tim @emmah

@caycepollard @liztai @tim @emmah there have always been hack writers and those with no talent who use ghostwriters.This is not a new problem. in the end my goal in being a writer is to bring joy to people and I feel like I can still do that regardless of what any 'competition' is up to.I'm playing my own game and trying to get my own audience.
