Businesses shouldn’t be allowed to be so cheap as to have their employees dependant on tips. Tips should be extra but not necessary. Local pizzeria literally charges $10.60 for delivery. They expect tip on top of that. Coming from somebody that used to work for tips.

I worked for tips too. I did food service. Tipping has gotten out of control. Not only are food prices absurd now but you have to add 20-25% tip on top of the menu price? Fuck out of here. I don't tip my UPS driver 400 bucks if he delivers a 2000 dollar computer.

I always tipped my barber, I have no idea why. Little family run mill village barber, I'd always toss him a 5. I never questioned why I did it, it was just something Dad did so I did it too. He never asked for it or even suggested it though

I don't order food. I cook 90% of all my own meals. On very rare occassion when she's being extra lazy she'll order a pizza and I'll steal a slice. Which I immediately regret! Since I've stopped eating goyslop during the lockdowns whenever I DO eat it I get violent poos!

During the lockdown era I got especially desperate once and I used doordash to order fried chicken. It took 3 hours to get it. When they delivered it the woman that dropped it off apologized because her dog was in the car and ate some of my biscuits. I never used it again

It looked like an old Honda from what I could see through the window. Honestly every single interaction I've had with a new "gig" employee. Uber, Doordash, etc has been absolutely awful. I've been afraid for my life, like truly afraid I was going to die twice in a vehicle. One of those was in an Uber. Like at a dinner theater or something when the waitress/waiter is bringing drinks, refills and actually working with you for a few hours. But at like fucking Applebees or something where it's half a step away from fast food it just adds weird expectations and pressures. If the environment is experience based and the waiter is improving the experience, whatever I'll tip because I had fun with you. If you are a robot just throwing food in front of me so I can eat and get out so the next person inline can be fed, whats the damn point?

Something that has come to mind is ready made freezer food is even lower quality then ever now. Teaching or learn to cook from scratch right now is almost as important as stocking shelf stable vitals.

I always throw her like $5-$10 because she's been cooking for 65 years and is still more fun than new people.
