Better than some states, I guess, but there are a lot of circumstances where abortions should be available beyond those that endanger the pregnant person’s life.Don’t want an abortion, don’t have one. Give out free contraception. And keep your religious beliefs to yourself. They’re not saving lives. They know it. They won’t stop until we vote them out.Oklahoma Supreme Court: State constitution grants "limited right" to abortion-https://www.axios.com/2023/03/21/abortion-oklahoma-health-care

@TonyStark@gwaldby If I'm reading this correctly, it's not nothing, because at least it should be easier to get help in severe cases, but it is still such bullshit because LITERALLY EVERY PREGNANCY is a risk to a person's life and an even bigger risk to their body's health in general (the possibility of permanent injury deserves some attention! Saying that actual likely death is the only thing worth intervening for is sick).Pregnancy may be worth it to some, but 1 thing it is NOT is safe.

@TonyStark A more cynical take on the Republican 'political pro-lifers'; they don't give one hoot about abortions, (because they get their mistresses fixed) but their lifeline to fundamentalist evangelical charismatic campaign cash, that must be given eternal life.

@TonyStark I do enjoy the daily Republican Hypocrite reports, where the most stringent GQP American Taliban politicians get caught for their perverse illegal sexual foibles.

@TonyStark ...Why are the women at these pro-baby murder to-dos of the type that only a drunken black guy fresh out of prison would think about impregnating. Put another way, it almost seems like another massive feminist LARP ("OMG I'm constantly getting boned with no protection and no pill and I would be nothing but a baby factory for some Alpha Male were it not for abortion...*sigh*")

@TonyStark Outlawing abortion doesn’t -and never has- stopped abortions. It kills women and ruins lives. Women are not breeding stock. Just sayin’

@SarahAnneDipity This, this, this. EVERY pregnancy is a risk to that person’s life, and no one should be forced to disclose the most personal of personal information in order to try and convince the state that they should be allowed to have full legal autonomy over their bodies. Abortion choice is the pro-life position and we need to take that term back from the forced-birth activists / religious extremists. @TonyStark @gwaldby

@Lowie @TonyStark 🤔 Want to reduce abortions? Have comprehensive sex education and give kids contraceptives free of charge/shame. That's been shown to do the trick.Of course, that's not what the GOP is about. They just like spouting off and not doing anything actually useful to the people of this country.

@TonyStark Maybe I'm just broken or something, because I was under the impression that since I was only useful for the fertilization of the egg -- I was already under "limited rights".Why is this very male dominated panel (6 guys, 3 girls) extending their limited rights? They aren't discussing inseminating these people - they aren't doctors, they should not have authority in this realm.Perhaps we should pivot one thing and see if they like it. I believe that all male judges should be castrated non-chemically in order to prevent bias based on my medical expertise. I read a book once that discussed men being castrated in order to prevent chemicals from messing with their heads. It was a Romance novel, but for all I know the author was a Doctor. I have as much confidence in that authors medical knowledge as I do random elected judges. It's so frustrating that the "rules for thee, and not for me" have become just everywhere now.

@Lowie @TonyStark Throwing this in here. Women used to be breeding stock. Men were the providers. During this time there was a whole hell of a lot of pride taken in both of these positions even though the male was always highly dominant. This time period, when having bigger numbers was of the utmost importance, when a girl came of age, she too became breeding stock. I have no way of knowing this but I believe that during that time perversions were lower in number simply due to the idea that you may not live beyond 30 & you had your mind on other things. However if you could bring another body into being, that was a good thingSo women were breeders & men had to care for them. Chattel.Times have changed & the normal average intelligent person understands this is no longer valid in todays overpopulated society. The last thing this planet needs is more humansYet here we are living under those that believe that women are nothing but breeding stock. And men who still like em young

@TonyStark A reminder of which states have banned abortion since last June (or where trigger bans on the books went into effect), which states are trying to ban it, and which states protect it.Only 49% of women ages 15-44 live in states where abortion is protected. I didn't use a gift link on this one but here's a photo of the map too.https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/2022/06/24/abortion-state-laws-criminalization-roe/

@caranmegil @TonyStark Even Republicans want to be able to control their own bodies. When a vote is put to the people, reproductive rights win. It's when Republican judges & state legislatures are making decisions for all of us that we lose. Or Congress, if we make the mistake electing Republicans. So I'm not surprised by any state where the people decided by referendum. Not that I want it put to a vote in my state. I'm over 44 but have many younger loved ones I want protected.
