@textfiles to be fair, I don't think the makers of "Tax Heaven 3000" have spent millions of dollars lobbying the government to make tax preparation overly complicated, so it's probably still less nefarious than TurboTax et al.

@textfiles What could go wrong? Many years ago, we switched from TurboTax to Tax-Cut because TurboTax started using a rootkit (ala Sony) to stop pirating of their software. Tax-Cut, though, sold our PII to scammers (I used a unique email address for Tax-Cut, and it ended up on scammer's email lists), so we went back to TurboTax the next year (and TurboTax stopped with the rootkit nonsense after protests from their customer base).

@textfiles This was so obviously a political statement, calling attention to the unique political corruption in the US that fuels our onerous tax filing system, and, as of yet, not an actual downloadable piece of software (although, considering MSCHFs record I wouldn't be surprised if they did plan to publish this as functional tax software). I'm sure Intuit Inc appreciates your service reporting this.
