       @Lazarou @ProPublica that's _why_ people become police - the freedom from accountability.  If you take that from the cops, then those people will just join other gangs, because the money is better.  Which is not to say that I support the police, or that I support gang life, because I find both to be detestable

       @fcktheworld587 @ProPublica I recall a recent story I read about LA Cops also being in gangs, also the graffiti outside Brixton station that recently said "The Met Are The Biggest Gang In London"  They quickly painted over that one....

       @Lazarou @ProPublica you're always going to have members of gangs infiltrate police, in order to increase the gang's influence, and to help reduce the costs of avoiding accountability from the police.However, the police themselves _are_ a gang.  They're a giant, government funded, gang.  This is what they are, and this is how they behave.  They are always going to back their own, against outsiders, until it is too bad, optically, for them to do so
