To those using an immutable distro: Which distro do you use?

@survey The idea of not being able to modify your system as you like, large system image updates, need to restart your computer after that (and possibly denied root access) sounds terrible for me, these are things I hate in Android or Windows.I have Trisquel installed at one machine and Artix at second, cause I learn how to arch by the way.

@survey Though I would like to see some kind of simple per-process filesystem access control on GNU/Linux (possibly as a LSM), just to restrict access to specific sensitive files and directories like ~/.mozilla to chosen set of processes. Without sandbox and overcomplicated MAC systems like Selinux.

@survey@fosstodon.org I've previously used Silverblue and found it interesting. I ceased using it because I wasn't able to get certain things to work or certain programs to interface with others, probably due to its highly compartmentalized and fully containerized nature. But, it was extremely stable. I've since gone back to normal Fedora and Debian stable and generally prefer traditional package management.

@adiz I also prefer the traditional distro "principle", mainly because I like to change my system, which is not possible/desired with immutable distros as far as I know.

@survey @adizIt’s a myth and a misconception of the word “immutable”, that is a technical term you should not try to interpret nor caring about it:https://www.ypsidanger.com/myths-about-this-new-fangled-linux-desktop/
