Wow I'm so surprised that a chemical manufactured to kill things made of organic materials would be harmful to humans, who are made of organic materials.Western knowledge production is so smart.https://insideclimatenews.org/news/17032023/roundup-glyphosate-health-kids/

@00Aaron If only we humans had the engineered genes GM crops have that protect them from glyphosate. #sarcasm

@00Aaron Ackchually, it’s so safe you could drink it. I know, because I was told it by a guy that refused to drink a glass of it on camera.

@00Aaron This is really interesting. Here's the original article (open access) https://ehp.niehs.nih.gov/doi/full/10.1289/EHP11721Apparently, they were able to make the connection so clearly because of California's pesticide use reporting requirement. As a proponent of broader environmental disclosures, I'm happy to see ways people are making use of this kind of data.

@00Aaron To be fair, we don't know yet what's going on and what is the mechanism of action, from what the article says? Bayer probably does tho, but hey :blobcatshrug: seems like in the EU it's approved until December of this year, and there's an ongoing lobbying fight for its renewal ‒ will be interesting to see what evidence is (not) provided
