What makes you think this isn't already happening? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=efPrtcLdcdM There are already practical examples of this in the wild using older GPT versions and it was almost indistinguishable from the true users, 4chan itself has a somewhat unique language to it, and the GPT bots can mimic it and the though patterns perfectly, finding some bugman hive and having ChatGPT babble about Marvel comics all day would be trivial for it. I really have the feeling that Social Media is not going to survive the decade, one a few large scale scandals reveal that most users are bot the text based sites will enter a steep decline, much like Ashley Madison hack effectively killed """"""dating"""""" sites when it revealed the "female" accounts were all bots and just toying with the men to keep them interested in paying the fees.
