A lot of these people realize everything leftist egalitarianist utopia is bunk, but their proposed solutions is to "return to tradition" but without the parts of it they think are gross. To go a step further, granola types span the entire political spectrum and if they were to get immersed in that scene, it would the first time they were ever exposed to legitimate right wing ideas in their entire life. If you don't believe me, prior to COVID-19, antivax shared a pretty even split between left and ring wing views, unlike most contentious views.
