@Zeno so I searched up "biggest and bestest cs papers" one day and that led me to a stack exchange of many of the most famous cs papers. other than that, whenever I come across a cool idea, I look to see the original paper on it or a survey paper. additionally, good textbooks often at the end of every chapter will cite many papers, OSTEP and Designing Data Intensive Applications do this.finally I do get good recs from lurking on HN tho I don't rlly go on there as much as I used to.

@scathach @Arcana @Zeno yea same here. I mostly specialize in distributed systems so I've got a bunch of ancient papers on the topic plus lots of really awesome recent stuff with CRDTs. PL theory stuff is awesome too. I'm currently on a binge of stuff that falls into "old technology that still looks futuristic today"am interested in smalltalk, actor model stuff, deductive databases (datalog is so goddamn cool). additionally I love PL research into stuff that makes programmers more productive and expressive
