       Just parked by a car at Costco who’s tags expired in September 2021.  Nothing says America like you car registration not being current but mega consumer membership is.

       @RoryAllen They won't let you in Costco with an expired membership, they must not be trying too hard to keep experts tags off the street.Rational actor encounters perverse incentives.

       @RoryAllen I'll throw in my $.02.  But for the month, you're describing me. Except my registration was renewed. During COVID I just stopped giving a flip about the sticker.  This year was first one I bothered to replace it. Maybe the cops aren't aggro about checking such things in my area, but it was never a problem for the 3 years I didn't bother. I  complain about the veneer of civ cracking, and maybe this is my little contribution to that process.

       @RoryAllen my wife went almost a year without tags during the plandemic and didnt realize it..I never drive her car and I hadn’t checked. She finally got pulled over and acted so dumbfounded (which wasn’t an act) the LEO let her go with a warning. She also has a perfect driving record. (and nice boobs 🤷‍♂️)

       @RoryAllen I get a lot more value out of paying for my Costco membership than I do paying money to a state that is actively taking steps to make my life more difficult.
