@ianbetteridge That is still a thing, btw. Adjusting a magnetic compass on a ship is tricky.

@anderspuck @ianbetteridge Which crew members job is it today? It sounds as if Leslie W. Wilkinson's primary responsibility was adjusting the compass. They can't possibly have one guy doing just that today!? This may be a silly question. I don't know anything about working on a ship 🙈 I's really interesting though!

@anderspuck @ianbetteridge Yeah, okay that makes a lot more sense than my idea of it being one of the crew members who does the adjusting the compass as part of his daily routine when the ship is at sea 🤦😂
