       I've been using Jeremy Valentine's @obsidian Dice Roller plugin for #ttrpgs for a while-- enough that it's begun to creep into my non-gaming workflows. It turns out that Dice Roller is pretty good at randomly surfacing ideas-- especially if the "randomness" is informed/structured in some way. Completely arbitrary results have limited usefulness, but being intentional about the possible range of results helps me use Dice Roller in other contexts.https://youtu.be/wHA5gzPOPPM

       @nicole @obsidian I use this simple query in my daily note template. It picks a random note from a directory at creation and hard-writes it into the created note.<%* files = app.vault.getFiles().filter(f => f.path.includes("Zettels"))random = Math.floor(Math.random() * (files.length - 1)) randomNote = files[random] tR += `> - Research: [[${randomNote.path}|${ randomNote.basename }]]\n` %>

       @nicole @obsidian I like this better than using dataview-type queries. There, I always ended up with a new random note whenever my daily note was reopened.

       @darren Nice! You can also do this with `dice-mod` if you want it written into the daily note, but whatever works!
