@lauren So, it's out of bounds to say that Rosa Parks was Black. Teachers are going to be in quite the bind when they note that "Rosa Parks had to give up her seat", and a student (rightfully) asks "But, why?"

@lauren It'd be nice if we could talk about rosa parks being literally a plant because the woman who should have been the icon wasn't considered "sympathetic" enough. Nobody remembers Claudette Colvin. 15 at the time of her arrest for not giving up her seat, she ended up pregnant and shunned by her community, who picked the secretary of the NAACP to take her role and become famous.
