@DK_Dharmaraj Been playing since beyond light and this is worse. They can't make tone match setting at all, and they don't explain anything. The macguffins from the last two expansions were at least explained. There were even some decent narrative twists.This is just bad. Even by my already low standards for destiny

@DK_Dharmaraj The witness has backstory and shit attached to lore books and cutscenes, a enemy (the traveler) and an agenda (the final shape) which might be total cessation to material existence and might not but is being saved for next year.The veil is literally so vague people don't know if it's a place or an object.

@Robert_Edwardly @SettlerLife @DK_Dharmaraj I ended up getting into Warframe instead of Destiny, a while ago anyway, dunno what either game is like now. In addition to being the same kind of game it also had the same type of "We're gonna talk about this thing with a weird name like you should know what it is but never actually explain it" storytelling. Which of course is just an excuse to put cool shit in a videogame.I still don't know why these guys all have toaster heads. I think it was something about selling body parts to pay off debts but I think you'd probably want to hold off on selling your head first. Its still cool though.youtu.be/mPTCq3LiZSE

@DK_Dharmaraj @Robert_Edwardly You have to understand, the current writers for Destiny have been trying to stretch out over 10 years the scraps of the original story that the people who wrote all the Halo stuff had made before they quit in the middle of D1's development (they were not happy with the demands Activision was making of what the game should be).They have no idea what any of the shit they write means until they have to finally pull something out of their ass and throw it down on the plate.

Unfortunately you're going to have to take my word on this oneThe difference is, there's an entire library of lore within the game which has been setting up the existing story for years now, and the shit in the new expansion has come completely out of left field with no buildup or explanation whatsoever either in the lore, or in the actual in-game missions. I'm sure to someone who isnt familiar with the lore, or doesnt care, that it looks the same. I assure you it's not.

I concur. Been playing since beta of D1. Thousands of hours. I genuinely love the lore and world building. But this season is eh. I'm not a big fan of Nimbus, Rohan was a blip on the radar and felt like they could have built his story up better, and I've still got no idea what the Radial Mast and Veil are. Or how important they are, or anything. I just feel like I'm going through the motions with the campaign. I have no sense of urgency. Don't get me wrong, I love when there's mystery and it takes time to put everything together. I love that "a ha" moment. But it just didn't happen here.
