       We’re in the middle of the most fun part of this transformation. Some ppl are impatient to reach autonomous, agential AI—but that’s going to be *so* sticky, both ethically and legally. When we reach it, we will look back on chat APIs and image prompting as a simpler time.

       @TedUnderwood IDK, I actually find this phase rather boring. I enjoyed the trippy funhouse mirror version of generative AI and the indie rock vibe of being the first to know about a cool little fine-tune someone trained. Now I feel like, since it's not feasible to compete with the big firms on raw capabilities, maybe now is the time for peeps like me to actively work on the vaguely mystical  and distinctly unprofitable task of giving quirky bots using lesser LLMs something resembling sentience
