       @meow :blobcatshrug2: i guess that the ecosystem has an influence on that... ios is closed source so people who dont care about such things use it and android is open so people who write open source code also tend to use an open source os

       @meow Android people dont like paying for apps, iOS people would rather pay a little bit and support the developers?  Just a guess

       @vk3xb i think it could be also that publishing an app on google play is a one-time $25 fee, while apple requires you to pay 99$ a year for a apple developer account? so releasing an app on ios is immediately more expensive than releasing an android app

       @meow possibly but as an Apple developer myself its not something you take into account when developing an app.  You generally do it as you have a need personally or to make money.  I think the two groups are very different markets.  The Apple folks are ok to pay for stuff that works and works for them, the Android folks expect everything to be free

       @Jain @meow apple makes publishing apps an absolute pain and its actually expensive like you need a 99$ aubscription or something AND a macAlso since you cant run 3rd party apps you are forced to use the store

       you can literally make android apps on a chromebook why arent there more pretty fedi clients on android
