Yes. Yes, I think I will. It is finally time to graduate from fake plastic drums (e.g. Rock Band) and learn this instrument I've been in love with since I was a kid. #Drums #Musician

@killyourfm that's on the wishlist here too. I can almost fit one in my music room if I get rid of an amp...

@techmiker I live in an apartment, so a proper kit just isn't feasible right now. But if I'm able to dedicated myself to properly learning and playing the digital drums (and I'll use them for recording my songs as well), then a proper analog kit is the first thing I'll buy when moving into a larger place!

@killyourfm Yes it is a difficult instrument to practise for most people unless you live on a farm somewhere. I have a trombone! No chance I'll be playing that soon. At least not while I get on with my neighbours. All the best! I find my shins hurt if I try to play a whole song on the drums.

@killyourfm nite there are some pretty great deals on eBay for used electronic kits. I got a Yamaha dx400 for @ couple hundred bucks a year or two ago.

@killyourfm I have that kit (to play Rockband 3 with) and I really like it :Blobhaj_Ani_Hophop:It only has two problems:- The bass drum needs some cinder blocks and a carpet underneath to stop it from moving around (I mounted it on a granite floor tile)- The "thump" it produces can still be a bit loud depending on your building, a rubber mat for washing machines cut to size can help with that

@killyourfm That's how my bass drum looks now.2€ granite tile, rubber mat (feet under the plate as well), all held together by extra strong double-sided tape, hasn't failed me yet. It's very heavy, but after a year of fighting with a wandering bass drum I'd say definitely worth the effort.

@hirnsushi Nice Steam Deck too! Thanks again for the pointers. I have no doubt I'll be defined as an aggressive drummer, so this is awesome to know.

@killyourfm I have this kit and I am happy with it. Beginner speaking here, I don't know if experienced drummers would agree.

@killyourfm Congratulations! I recently graduated from my starter kit, an old Roland hd-1, to an ATV exs-5. Drumming can be a slippery slope when it comes to gear. I’ve already upgraded the kick & snare to their acoustic shell edrum versions because I found a great deal on used ones. 😅I also recommend giving Melodics a try. Have fun with your new drums!
