@WashedOutGundamPilot @thecurse cars don't even have ebrakes anymore. most you get is a small switch like for electric windows you can flip after you park, and it asks the computer pretty please to do somethingidk what it does, since these modern cars don't have a big ratcheting wire to pull the brakes shut anymore. probably just to soothe spiritual boomers like me who still don't trust automatic transmissions

@Paultron @thecurse @WashedOutGundamPilot I'd never driven a car without a handbrake until I got to the US and had to drive my wife's Prius (shit car btw). There's something I really do not like about pushing a button to put the parking brake on instead of pulling up a physical lever.

@Kallian @Paultron @thecurse @WashedOutGundamPilot Yeah, same here with the little footpedal thing. Seems like a safety oversight too that the driver can get out, forget to put the brakes on, and leave any passengers without a convenient and obvious way to fix the problem. Proper handbrake next to the gearshift is the way.
