Twitter vs. MastodonI posted this graph on Twitter (to 95,000 followers) & Mastodon (with 1/10th the followers).I got double the likes/boosts on Mastodon. On Twitter I got dozens of ugly replies from climate deniers & trolls. On Mastodon I got polite & interesting questions.

@petergleick one of the replies is some Russian troll clown who blames Russian war crimes and mass murder of civillians in Ukraine on the US! The same people always point fingers at Hamas deliberate carpet bombing of Ashdod and saying that's OK because those are good rebels. This is because the administrators of kolektiva.social have censored most of the rest of the fediversetoots that get more than 3 RTs is not as uncommon out here in the #racoonfedvierse because we can actually communicate with eachother out here without our administrators preventing this from happening en masse

@petergleick Twitter isn't worth it. The casual followers that made it worthwhile despite everything have already left, so the only people left are hardcores with large apparent followings, and trolls. This is how internet message boards in the first decade of the 2000s met their end.
