@lowqualityfacts Not technically true.We have atomic clocks which are remarkably accurate.It's just that it's also really, really hard to read where their hands are pointing.

@lowqualityfacts you can always go by the atomic clock, but as im sure Einstein probably said, by the time you read the clock and the information gets to your brain it's already a new time. every time you read a clock, you're looking at the past

@lowqualityfacts I mean, we invented the unit of time called the second, and then searched nature high and low until we found something arbitrary that took exactly that long, and then said, "that's what a second is!"Also, the movement of our planet, moon, and local star don't match the time intervals we made up for them, so we invented things like "leap seconds" and "leap years" so we can continue to pretend nature works in ways it obviously doesn't.🤷♂️
