I did something cool but untraditional knowing in the back of my mind that App Review might reject it.And they did making my effort wasted and ensuring I don't try drawing outside the lines for a long time.Nothing discourages thinking different like Apple App Review.

@palmin All these years later, I just can’t get comfortable with a computer platform where you can write code for it, but the vendor gets to say whether or not people can run your code.I thought that was wrong the day it was announced and still do.The money says I’m in a minority. I’m comfortable with that. The Web remains the only platform without a proprietor. Treasure it.

@timbray I believe it is also impossible to write code and run it on your personal iOS device, that you own, without also paying Apple an additional $109 annual developer program membership tithe. It's Apple's phone, they just allow you to carry it around with you for a little while.

@zorinlynx @garrwolfdog @palmin @timbray It's come a long way in the past few years. Arch is almost zero config for me now. KDE Plasma on Wayland just works. There is extra work maintaining a rolling release platform.I did have major issues with Fedora and GNOME, although I can't say anything about Silverblue which is apparently fantastic.
