::: Ubuntu is going SUPER for its 23.04 release next month :ubuntu:The LATEST mainline Linux 6.2 kernel is confirmed to be included. How un-Ubuntuan? But then again this is also a testing ground for the next LTS (24.04) :thinkhappy: 6.2 kernel has improvements for: * Xeon Scalable "Sapphire Rapids" servers* Intel Arc Graphics for DG2/Alchemist GPUs* AMD Radeon RX 7000 series "RDNA3"* NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 on Nouveau (open source driver)Maybe this is related to Ubuntu's decision to advance also gaming OOTB 🎮 => https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu-devel/2023-March/042512.html#Ubuntu #release #kernel #Linux #Intel #Arc #Alchemist #Nouveau #RDNA #Lunar #Lobster

@Linux It's not un-ubuntunian, for three main reasons:1st:It's not an LTS, so greater risks can be taken, because they don't need to thing about supporting something for 10 years. or the majority of the user base be impacted by a buggier release.2nd:I believe there's an agreement between Intel and Canonical regarding the support for the Intel Arc Graphics cards, and 6.2 is as you pointed important for that.3rd:I believe you're correct also on the gaming take.

@DiogoConstantino Well, yes :thinkhappy: this surely benefits and paves way for a brilliant LTS next year.

@DiogoConstantino Right 👍 aaaand the pickering about packaging techs within the community would be best to just seize. The infighting doesn't benefit Linux nor anybody. Everyone can really choose to use whatever one wants / needs. Using "all three" here amongst native packages in perfect harmony :thinkhappy:
