Does anyone know an abridgment of #Pamela that high school students/undergraduates would stomach and that wouldn’t sicken instructors too much? Just Asking Questions for me, and for a friend. If C18 mastodon wants to block me in protest, I deserve it. @carrideen @friede @ASECS

@bookish @carrideen @friede @ASECS Ha! Good question. When I first began my job as a visiting prof., another visiting faculty member (she was in English) taught an entire course just on Pamela. My immediate reaction was that she was either a genius or very foolhardy.

@CitizenWald @bookish @carrideen @friede @ASECS I did once teach Pamela, Shamela, and Anti-Pamela in a C18 class and my students wearily called it the Pamela class. Never did it again.
