       The difficulty with me and booze, is I want to have my cake, and eat it too. That is to say, I want all of the pleasure of drinking, without any of the suffering that inevitably comes with it. When I drop dead of a heart-attack in my early fifties, or wake up one morning and behold with horror my bloated yellow face in the mirror, that unmistakably declares "your liver is screwed, and soon you will die in pain", I will wonder whether it was worth it, and conclude that it wasn't. 😔
