An image posted to highlight the cruelty of keeping animals in captivity and put on show for the tourist trade in Thailand, kept on a short chain, drugged to subdue the Animal and displayed in front of a tacky background. Throughout the World many Zoos do great work in protecting endangered species with properly organised breeding programmes but this is a sickening example of exploitation for profit.https://pixels.com/featured/captive-and-bored-john-hughes.html#BuyIntoArt #AYearForArt #SpringIntoArt #tiger #cruelty #wildlife

@JohnHughes What's the context? Where is it? Why is it happening? Is it permanent?

@zorangrbic This was in Thailand where this magnificent animal was kept in captivity, drugged to keep in a subdued state in order that it could be photographed with Western tourists for their amusement. This is the life of the animal for the duration of its life, a horrible cruel exsistence.

@JohnHughes Indeed. And what a cheap type of tourism it is, to look at a chained animal in front of an image of the jungle when your literally 3 steps from the real thing. Pathetic. Never understood people paying thousands of dollars to travel 10.000 miles to look at the fake thing.
