       @marcan Well DRMs are broken crypto, by design, it's only there to annoy commoners when they don't have the software to either break the DRM or merely use the DRM.And because of interoperability issues, I've been wondering for a while if DRMs wouldn't actually mean more pirate copies being used than if DRM wouldn't exist. (And even without DRMs, copyright enforcement still works)

       @lanodan @marcan The point of DRM isn't so much to combat piracy, as it's to keep vendors in line – you can't get legal access to the keys without signing some very limiting agreements.

       @jernej__s @marcan It is the official story and I think it could be useful to debunk it, at least to get more DRM-free media, at least from small organisations.And if they just wanted to keep vendors in line, copyright exists for this, are you no aware of things like EULAs?
