Handymen of NA - any thoughts on how to put the door handle back on? Someone ( one of the kids ) yanked it out of the door. I was thinking longer screws

@kgibson may not look great on the backside, but a longer bolt that goes through the door, with a large washer and nut on the backside. Should be a long term fix.

@S1rV0Tra1n3r it’s a dummy handle that won’t rotate - it would match the one next to it

@kgibson Get a wooden dowel roughly the same size or slightly larger. Cut to length and coat with wood glue (Gorilla glue is best). Tap dowels into the holes and let dry. Sand if needed when dry.Use same size screws, drill pilot hole optional.

@kgibson Tap the bulging portion back flush with the face. Get some wood glue and wooden matches (or better yet 1\8" dowel rod).... Fill hole with glue and pack as many matches or dowel pieces in the holes ..Install door knob ......OR shift it to different hole location and hope for the best that you hit solid wood

@kgibson sand it smooth, wood filler, and paint, then use a handle instead of knob. Ive never seen a dummy knob before.

@kgibson Get some screw anchors. Lightly push them in and when you put a screw into them they expand to snugly grip "soft" materials like plastic and drywall. You can buy them wherever tools and stuff are sold.

If it's a solid door you could try using wider screws, or an insert (like a slither of plastic) inside the extant hole to give grip to the diameter of screw used in the fitting.>hole>screw:3

Yeah if the door is solid, this technique should do the trick. If it is a hollow core door, drywall anchors can work.

@kgibson Expandable screws? But would depend on the material of the door and if it is soft enough I guess.
