@stux It's not perfect, but I sometimes feel good about my Dropbox + KeePass strategy. It's really not perfect UI wise, but I've been pretty confident about its security.Heck - frankly, I'd rather the KeePass file itself not be leaked, but I feel pretty confident in KeePass if it was

@stux people need to know about Bitwarden and KeePass to have a starting point.Currently I'm using Vaultwarden, the self-hosted Bitwarden-compatible software.

@cadusilva Those are good alternatives! Self hosted is the best indeed but not for everyone though :blobcatgiggle:

@stux indeed, for people who want to self-host their stuff should take a look at KeePass and some cloud storage. Way easier. For everyone else, Bitwarden is the way to go as of right now.

@stux Terrifying how many companies--and we're talking TECH COMPANIES here, as those are the ones I work for--who still use them

@cadusilva Yunohost(.org) also offers a suuuper easy way for people to self-host all kinds of amazing stuff btw! :blobcathighfive: Just a single command should be doable right :flan_hacker:

@stux yes, I stopped after the 1st hack and felt validated in not returning after the last one.

@stux I wonder if they'll change their name and try to convince people they are something new.

@stux I tried 1Passowrd and Bitwarden and settled on 1Password. Lastpass's attempts to suppress information and seeming inaction leading to another breach have been very troubling. A friend of mine uses it for his business, it's a huge chore to move but they are doing it. They've already had to change loads of passwords.

@stux @bitwarden Might self-host at some point but I’m still unsure how to proceed with a home server as a college student without port forwarding. In the mean time, I’m more than willing to pay the $12 a year to support the open source project.
