May as fucking well. Establishing a long line of control over the Caribbean instead of along the Mexican coastline would be easier for a maritime power to hold and defend. One reason I'm beginning to think we're pushing more aggressively for a more secure Mexico is because the US wants them to industrialize to replace the cheap Chinese labor. The move to eventually increase the productivity of Mexico + Central/South America is coming about because USA is getting ready to just tell the Chinese to fuck off. Though this plan should've been set long ago instead of right when you want to wage an economic war with the Chinese.

The Chinese are a no go, and Russians are viewed as a hostile enemy force. And good luck getting Arabs to fight for the Great Satan.So, who are they gonna recruit? Fucking Mongolians? French Foreign Legion? Just literally put Americans flags on all NATO troops? The closest thing possible to what they is is some some of mercenary NGO, lead by Israelis. In reality, they will probably just recruit foreigners to fill in various gaps in tech, IT, security, etc... With the predictable result of even more mass corruption and incompetence, leading to more deaths of Americans and more blatant war crimes. But, I can't help but think the real goal here is getting to the point where they can just directly place Israelis into the US military, without bothering with the pretense of âdual citizenship.â

The germans made excellent soldiers, but they were also opportunistic and not particularly loyal. As the empire declined they tended to be less mercenaries on the border and more warlords actively carving up the empire.That said, they didn't particularly have much difficulty carving it up since the imperials were such oppressive rulers that being invaded by barbarians was an upgrade for 95% of the population.As for who'll fight for them? Anyone and everyone. France has been doing it for years, they recruit arabs and make them french citizens when they get their discharge. It's massively destructive to the social fabric of france but that's a separate question.In the case of the us... beaners, boers, somalis, flips... you name it. That's why you see the new ads trying to gets White men back. US citizenship can be gained without the hassle of military service. Hell, you don't even need citizenship to get welfare, a driver's license, or even vote in some places. There is more incentive just to come here legally and overstay your visa or just enter illegally than there is to join the military. There is also more incentive for the US to just gayop locals into the fighting each other in the Middle East like they've done since the 50s, since they won't have any direct responsibility for their actions. Foreigners, especially Israelis, and âEastern Europeansâ with suspicious last names, may be used in limited places within the US military proper, but foreigners will likely ever be substantial force in the US, at least not any time soon. That is, unless you include the various immigrants from 1965 onward and their descendants who are already US citizens, then you might be right. But remember, Rome took a long time to fall, and the US hasn't even reached it's crisis of the Third Century.

Doesn't take much competance to guard a checkpoint tbh. Plenty of jobs in the army that can be done by dimwits.The value-added that the foreign legion offered was a clean slate. You could join up with an assumed name and they'd look the other way provided you did what you were told.The other advantage of using foreigners is that they don't have a lot of attachment to White americans. So they can be more easily used and trusted to put down internal rebellions.It's also possible to pit foreign bands against each other to keep them in check (romans did this a lot) whereas domestic rebel groups might have too much in common to counter each other.I fully agree the US will drag on for a long time, I'm not expecting a quick collapse, but nonetheless Rome started doing all the things that lead to it's downfall pretty much as soon as it became an empire. Inviting in foreigners, inflating the money supply, depending on the army to suppress dissent (FBI is effectively an internal army), fixing prices, replacing domestic labourers with slaves, centralising land ownership etc.
