       @gentai Krita and a large swap partition.Do some colorspace conversions on many-layers pictures, maybe have a few open at once. It gets pretty crazy.

       @taith one of the big reasons it worked back in the day was the amount of memory you had/needed was fairly small, and processors were very slow, making harddrives relatively faster compared to other processing components.In modern times, your CPU is so much faster than a P3 500mhz that even the 10~50x performance improvement going to solid state is lagging behind that curve.But yeah, I had a 2ghz dual core with 1gb of system memory, I know how bad swap on hdd can be.
