My current annoyance with macOS Ventura: the Music.app miniplayer apparently has no way to show the title and artist of the current song. It’s happy to show you the album cover, but not what’s playing. Is there a hidden setting somewhere to restore that?**ANSWERED:** it actually does show that information, as long as you don’t have one of the controls focused via keyboard interaction. My volume control was focused, so the info didn’t appear until I tabbed out of the controls. Today I learned!

@Meyerweb It's weird! I've been messing with this too. I kindof got it back by clicking the playlist icon in the bottom right that appears on hover. This expanded the track list. I clicked it again to hide it, and now it's showing me the details 🤷‍♂️

@MattHodges @Meyerweb Also be sure not to hover the mouse over it! They appear when you slide the mouse cursor away.

@shacker @MattHodges And also when you tab out of the controls to put focus somewhere else! (See updated root toot.)

@Meyerweb Every time I use the Apple Music app, I imagine Apple engineers listening to Spotify as they work, cuz there's no way they're eating their own dogfood.

@pborenstein @Meyerweb Really? I’ve used the desktop app all day every day for 18 years (since early iTunes) and don’t have any complaints! How is Spotify better?

@shacker @Meyerweb If it works for you, that's great. For me, Music is a sluggish beast that loses my music. It takes well over 10 seconds to start up (I have 56,000 tracks, but c'mon)Why can't I use the Column Browser on Playlists? Why does everything have to look like a tile.Old iTunes was more responsive on PowerPC Mac than Music is on my M1 MBP.I took up Apple up on having them store my ripped tracks. Now I have a bunch of "No Longer Available" entries.

@pborenstein @Meyerweb Wow, something doesn't sound right there! I just measured a 4-second startup with 90k tracks. I don't have any trouble using the column browser on playlists - all six possible views are available on playlists. And I've certainly never lost music! Hrm.
