@nextcloud Speed.Granted, main prod instance is currently running on a HDD-only server within lxc container behind a proxy webserver in another lxc container. But dashboard loading in 10.5s and main photo page in just over 8s is asking for a lot of patience.(granted^2, I have not tried to really optimize my set-up yet as I first want to move it to a NVMe based server)

@nextcloud Fix the reboot loving Windows installer.Every other time when I start my machine it wants to update, and then automatically reboots. It's very irritating and time consuming.Remote drive integrations should feel invisible on host platforms.

@nextcloud I find the installation of Talk and Collabra to be confusing. These seemingly require external services, and requirements depend a lot on the expected server load (e.g. number of users). I would appreciate clearer documentation with examples of different use cases/setups.

@nextcloud My biggest issue is the self-closing window of the Nextcloud Client on Linux. It is absolutely impractical to have a window close if it loses focus. A nice GTK 4 App would be awesome :D

@nextcloud I am just starting to try out Nextcloud - but really struggle with the contacts app. It’s visually uninviting and generally somewhat confusing. I think it would be awesome if this could be improved. Having a secure and encrypted location to store and sync contacts from is good & right now i think I would use a separate client to handle them and only sync them into the cloud. Defeating the purpose of Nextcloud as a work-hub.Otherwise I have to say there’s some really cool stuff that’s making it interesting as a general work-hub. Markdown folder headers through read me files seem really cool for example.

@nextcloud Separate user id and user name. Allow the latter to be changed. There is a giant issue on that, the main point is, that some people registered with a now dead name and cannot change their name without deleting and recreating an account. And hence losing all their stuff in the process

@nextcloud Windows client: A problem is that when you install a connection, if you don't remember to choose at the beginning the option Choose the elements to be synchonized (or something like that), you can't start this later.But in general, I really love Nextcloud and it's development - if you asked what we like about it, there would be looooots to say, thank you!

@nextcloud I'd like to see the nextcloud devs put more focus on what users need and want than what shiny new gizmo can be shoehorned in. Whenever I need an example of bloat I just show my nextcloud interface.For a very basic example of many things to address; bring back simple txt file editing, in all interfaces, while the rich text is nice... for some users I guess, I'm sure many people just want to make a quick note without all the overhead and weird responses of the rich text app.

@nextcloud The sign up processes is rather convoluted if one is trying to find a cloud storage provider. Then when a free account is setup, adding paid features usually means another round of account creation. All while there isn’t really any simple launch page. Some of these account pages need to be bookmarked or you’ll never find your way back (I exaggerate).The average person wanting to setup cloud storage is going to be scared away.

@nextcloud Support for VJOURNALs. Even something simple. I know the backend can do it, I'm already using DAVx5 and jtxBoard to do journals, but there's no way to show them in Nextcloud itself. It just shows up as an empty calendar without any entries. Would be a nice thing to have a simple markdown editor, like notes, for it so that you could easily use them both on a phone and desktop.

@nextcloud The photos app! It's SO CLOSE to being the Google Photos replacement I need, but it's full of random stuff outside my photos folder, despite spending time making .nomedia files. It needs some AI so it can group people and places and things. So far, PhotoPrism has been my photos, but I'd be happier having that in NextCloud.

Current attitude in many companies is something between „must be one of these freeware hacker things, no thanks we only use pro tools“ and „sounds too good to be true, let’s stick with Microsoft“.

@nextcloud on @e_mydata Android mobile OS, they have set up a sync that does not detected some changes to the folders on the Nextcloud server that they offer their users: moving files accross folders, or deleting a file on the server does not get replicated on the phone. They don't use Nextcloud for Android but the OS has something else build in that does the sync, so I suppose it's not a Nextcloud issue

To fix: The desktop sync client deletes data when I uncheck the "sync" box for a folder. I just want to stop syncing, and keep unsynced data locally. A sync client should never delete local data unless that delete request comes from the server.If I add a new local folder 'Foo' when there is already an unsynced folder 'Foo' on the server, the sync client deletes data on the server to match the local folder, instead of copying server data to local folder. I've lost data that way.@nextcloud

@nextcloud More reliable upgrades. I fear running even a patch release update as it takes a long time and in my experience has about a 25% chance of failing. Last week I totally destroyed a server with it. (I was able to recover thanks to backups.) I hate being gunshy about updates.

@nextcloud An option for the admin to block public access to Talk. This would be for example important for schools. It has to be impossible for people to join these kinds of conversation without identification. At this level, the school as an institution has a responsability. Schools shouldn't help the bullying. And for example if someone wants to send undesired content, it should be halfway possible to find out who it was.

@nextcloud I would love the ability to filter tasks by tag. I know I can do a site-wide search for a tag, which does immediately filter the tasks as long as I'm on that app when I enter the search term, but this feels rather counter intuitive.With the tags displaying as "buttons" after the task title, making them clickable would be very helpful. Also, adding tags to the filter selection would help.
