@selea Agreed! Everytime I need ubuntu for something I suffer, some of it is me prefering redhat/redhat based distros, others are pure ubuntu issues I come across.

@sotolf @selea I think for me it's more «Java used in places where something else is more efficient and suitable» ... and to be honest that's probably a polluted point of view from years ago when Java (actual Java) was used on websites and learning platforms.so I guess I mean the VM 😁

@paul @selea Hmm, now in the days of electron to get back to the old java days would be kind of nice :p. And the java platform has some nice languages, like clojure and kotlin, and it has loads of stuff that is made for it as well, it's actually a pretty decent environment if you just keep away from the enterprise frameworks :)

@selea @thomy2000 Ubuntu is like a gf with a cluster B personality disorder. You get what you think you want right away but it’s always lying to you and fundamentally changing the terms of the relationship without telling you. Furthermore if you try to course correct those changes it can get explosive and all your shit disappears until you whisper nonsensical incantations you found in a source code comment of the afflicted package.
