@GottaLaff gun worshippers never come to the table to find solutions. They never come to the table at all. Their arguments are intentionally stupid, intended to “trigger”their neighbors bc they can. At this point I say outlaw the MFing guns. Sue the manufactures. Tax the crap out of them. Abolish the NRA which is responsible for twisting & distorting 2A. If one 2A proponent ever stepped up in good faith I would feel differently.

@MTnv @GottaLaff It comes down to acting ethically. What is expedient (gun bans) is not ethical (coercion and violence against peaceful people is wrong).Find a better solution.

@ruedi @GottaLaff My being free of your violence is not subject to solving your problems.This problem is not one of guns, Canada has a ridiculous amount of guns (1:3 houses has guns). It is absolutely cultural.Primarily, the drug war has created an environment where people are in for a penny in for a pound. Stop the war on drugs.Next, the sex trade is linked to a good many too, and like the drug trade, it encourages violence for territory. Stop the war on sex.Finally, general tension that comes with forcing people to associate politically amps things up and pushes those who are already on the edge ... over it.Less violence is the answer, not more.

@GottaLaff @ruedi 1 in 3 homes has guns here.There are 20+ million "legal" guns, and 38 million people. Around 2 1/2 million licences, and at least as many who never bothered.

@elliswyatt @GottaLaff I fundamentally disagree with private people owning guns. Sports, job, hunting.... yes, of course. Interestingly the number of guns per capita in Switzerland is higher than in the US. But they have ZERO mass shootings.What I am totally on board with is that societies need less violence, social pressure, job-related stress, division and so on.

@ruedi @GottaLaff I understand you disagree with private gun ownership.My position is that to get what you want, you will have to threaten, harm and kill peaceful people who have done nothing wrong. And that doing so is wrong.If you want less violence, codifying violence against what, 100 million people? is not the way to do it.
