I've never 'given away' my fingerprint for a ID card or whatever :thinktink: And I'm not gonna.. Why the F would the gov need my fingerprint.. Come and get it btchhhhh :lego_laugh:

@stux maybe for easier detection by the police, if you don't have your ID with your or if you would have done a crime and left fingerprints?! (-> Europol??)

@stux Oh, natural born citizens are not mandated to do so? I had to give mine for the naturalization process plus when I needed a passport, and it's always checked whenever I have such business at the gemeentehuis.

@stux Oh, I just read you can get an ID without fingerprints, but not a passport.Fingerprints are only stored on the passport, at least that's what they promise 😉

@stux Tot voor kort kon je bij het inscannen het scanapparaatje omdraaien, dat werd niet gedetecteerd en is je vingerafdruk ongeldig in de ID kaart.Vermoed dat ze het opgelost hebben maar zou mij niet verbazen als ze dat niet gedaan hebben.

@stux Oh, I do have to travel to non-EU countries and the Dutch passport makes it much easier for being visa-free, so unfortunately I have had to D: I understand that the fingerprint will definitely be used to cooperate with law enforcement, but I would not want to willingly provide my DNA.

@stux Trouwens. Het controleren van vingerafdrukken wordt alleen in de VS gedaan.... Ik weet van geen enkel ander land die de sleutels heeft om de vingerafdrukken leesbaar uit de kaart te krijgen.
