@theorytoe In a lot of settings Elves don't even use currency and just want to live in the forest with their tree spirit or whatever, and in fact it is sometimes their complete refusal to engage in trade that leads to their conflicts with other races.

@NirtyDigger @theorytoe @rightwingsjw @bleedingphoenix Gnomes/dwarfs (gnomes are elementals and fairies that took on the traits of the older legends of Dwarfs, which are a more of a mythological race, due to their similarities) are cool. I can see WHY people call them jews, but gnomes share nothing with jews beyond the love of wealth, and the characterization of dwarfs is so inconsistent that it seems unlikely. There's also the fact that they both like hard labor so long as they get compensated, when we all know jews hate to work.

@rightwingsjw @theorytoe @NirtyDigger @bleedingphoenix Probably worth noting that a lot of times in Norse mythology and folklore, Dwarfs, Black Elves, and Dark Elves are used interchangeably, and what we think of as Elves today are just Light Elves. So every time you see a "Dark Elf" in fantasy it's usually nothing like a real dark elf besides having dark skin.Also, as far as the Tolkien mythos goes, Goblins and Orcs are the same thing. "Orcs" are just what the Hobbits refer to goblins as in their dialect.
