       @kolya@social.cologne A lot of jokes are funny because not everyone gets them. Sometimes jokes require some preemptive knowledge, if you don't "get it" that's fine, you can always ask or simply ignore it.I don't think the person making the joke has to make sure that everyone "gets it".A lot jokes are not funny if you say it is a joke. Especially with jokes that are references I don't think they would be funny at all if they always directly said what it was supposed to reference.

       @kolya@social.cologne Also I'm not really looking for an actual answer to my question. It's mostly rhetorical, unless I'm missing something obvious, as GIMP having questionable design decisions is something that almost every free software user agrees on.

       @SuperDicq @kolya Yeah there's some goofiness in there. I like GIMP's options for making gifs though. I keep it around for that even if I don't make them often.

       @Yaldabaoth@shitposter.club @kolya@social.cologne I still GIMP despite its flaws and limitations and it definitely has its place, but I mostly prefer Krita for most things nowadays.
