Still without an iOS Mastodon app. Mastodon official app is broken in many ways, and now Tootle won’t even start up.

@Knight_of_the_First_State I have never used an app for Mastodon, just my browser which works fine. What is the benefit of using an app?

@Knight_of_the_First_State I'm not sure about Tootle, but I know a couple of open source Android Mastodon clients added NAS to a blacklist (because it doesn't ban anybody right of Mao). After the update that added the blacklist, the apps would crash without explanation if it was configured to connect to NAS. Tootle may have done the same.I'm using Fedilab, but I don't believe there is an iOS version. I'd suggest just using it via a web browser.

@Knight_of_the_First_State The best experience is in-browser.

@Knight_of_the_First_State I just use the browser, but added a shortcut to the Home Screen so it works like an app. The only downside is you don’t get notifications. Video shows how to add to home screen.

@Cougarnav I tried the web app approach and the lack of notifications was a dealbreaker. Could be ok for posting, though.

@Knight_of_the_First_State I have MetaText installed to get the notifications, but that app isn’t great.

@Knight_of_the_First_State For occasional use on my iPhone I use Masthttps://apps.apple.com/us/app/mast-for-mastodon/id1437429129?platform=iphoneYeah - a couple bucks and hasn't been updated in two years. But it works fine for me.I usually use the web page on my laptop - Mast somehow picks up where I left off for notifications, home & local timelines. Uploads pictures just fine.Apparently made by some guy in India - according to his web page.

@lradcliff Mainly, notifications. If I got them by email, that’d be cool, too.

@Knight_of_the_First_State Weird, I’m reading this on Tootle right now. @Jagahati suggests Ivory. “It’s a paid app, but slick” he says.
