fun fact:most people think it’s 50%/50% but in reality exercise matters little for weight loss: As a rule of thumb, weight loss is generally 75 percent diet and 25 percent exercise. An analysis of more than 700 weight loss studies found that people see the biggest short-term results when they eat smart.

@CSB Food and exercise are weighted about equally by natureNew weight = Old Weight + ((Calories In - Calories Out) * 3500)The reason why diet changes are more effective is because modern western foods are so extremely unhealthy, and people who exercise for weight loss are generally exercising MUCH less intensely than generic gym bro, who may literally be using up 4000 calories per day in resting + active with a goal of gaining muscle.

@CSB weight loss is mostly about food but if you don’t exercise and just eat less and better, you are skinny-fat and your body still falls apart whether you skinny or fat. Exercise is a must to stay healthy.

@CSB Human body is natural, and I do not eat artificial foodsIt is true that some modern foods cause bloating. Slightly special case, I think of it more as fat vs. muscle composition, because the chemistry says that energy in, energy out determines weight

@CSB @Wagair Yes. It's INTAKE. I follow SEVERAL people on a "Weight Loss Journey" and you can tell immediately who will make it by their willingness to post their weight. They post everything BUT: video proof they're at the gym, how many pullups, but not The Score, ie their weight. You can't have a accountability without accounting. Gotta give people the score for them 2 cheer.

@CSB @7billionrising I was told I need a shoulder replacement, I am 42+ so my hormones were low, I started trt and lifting weights only small amounts 15 lbs but I have gained significant amount s of muscle after supplementing my testosterone, I limit carbs and stick to high protein foods, I don’t do much cardio so getting rid of belly fat is difficult

There’s also a saying that people drink most of their calories. There are people who eat right but don’t drink right (for example drinking lots of soda and sugary coffee)

Calories in calories out is generally how it works and the folks who agree also say it’s more important to eat right if you’re trying to lose weightNo amount of working out can erase a garbage diet

@CSB going to the gym helps a lot. But it's difficult to see on a scale. I've been the same weight for 8 months but look way better if I look at in the mirror...

@KillerMule @Mummabear @CSB I have to disagree. I never lost weight with diets, only with exercise. Very long walks are the best. You only begin to burn fat after about 45 minutes.
