Gotten a few DMs on this shit, so here you go: How to help SA from collapse:Our issue is electricity. We have a lot of people and a lot of sun. We need solar panels that are 1) easy to install + require barely any maintenance 2) affordable cause we're poor 3) anti theft, because everything we keep outside gets stolen. Also there used to be solar panels with 6 times the efficiency as the Chinese onse everyone is buying right now and they were made in germany, but due to cutting Costs they aren't Produced anymore. This country deserves the end trust me.

even your german made solar panels need, mppt trackers, battery managment systems and inverters. all of them have chips made in china in them, having everything done in one country is an illusion. the whole semiconductor industry in the end rests on one company in the netherlands for it's lithography machines.

The only people who own it right now had to save months/are very rich. It required a lot of manual labourers to install and while it's fantastic, they're very worried it might be stolen over night, unlike some of their other properties with anti-theft mechanics installed. It will require yearly maintenance too and could only be installed since they owned houses. A LOT of people live in shacks here or rent apartments if they're upper middle class. If it was an obvious, easy solution atm, we wouldn't be spending 8 hours a day in blackout. I believe this is doable though! Just not through us.

I know less about these two (and nothing about companies outside IL because I just read a lot of news about local tech), but they might fit the bill.Consider that the easier something is to install the easier it is to steal. It's a tradeoff. Y'all should look into Diesel generators as an alternative option. All the countries in the region with no oil have had these sorts of problems for years so everyone relies on Diesel. It's also much harder to carry off.

I agree with all this. Solar panels are terrible and inefficient when used for bloc power or as supply side distribution systems, but can be manageable for an individualās power needs. The problem is that it can be quite an investment to set up and you will still need to adjust your personal usage to match the stored or available energy.
