       Some #YouTube creators seem to feel that if they don't have a perfect speaking voice they have to resort to synthesized voices. Here's a great counter-example. There is a YT channel I know of discussing a wide range outer space technologies with a large number of videos. The creator voices them himself, even though he has a minor speech impediment. In fact, on many of his videos, he pops up a banner noting that if you have trouble understanding him through his speech impediment, please turn on the closed captioning. I find this quite admirable.

       I really tried to like that channel, and I just couldn't listen to it, because of his voice. So those people who use synthetic voices do have a point.@lauren

       @EverydayMoggie I actually find his voice rather soothing. It is completely intelligible. Synthetic voices are mainly used as a production shortcut, often by largely automated channels.

       @lauren @EverydayMoggie I prefer videos with human narration. If the producer doesn't feel their voice is good, perhaps a friend or associate can read a script. I got tired of the drone of text-to-speech long ago. I want to hear a human voice, even if it's less than perfect (at least it's authentic).
