I'm writing a book about @obsidian , IN Obsidian. In public! @nicole @obsidian For the first 2/3 of the early draft, I posted chapters daily in public, along with "director's commentary" on what I learned along the way. (One thing to consider: if you're looking at eventual commercial publication, most publishers don't really like having the entire book out there for the public to read without buying it. So: I removed the text before completing it, and have since revised it further, of course.)

@nicole @obsidian Once I got the knack of #Obsidian publish, posting new chapters via Obsidian publish was easy and reliable (though changes could take a bit to show up online).One hard-learned lesson: getting clean text out of Obsidian and into files an agent or publisher will accept can be tricky. I had to push the material to #Ulysses (where I revised) and leverage Ulysses's clean output to Word to deliver what's requested.

@nicole @obsidian Long story short (too late -- ha!), I had a good experience writing a novel in #Obsidian ... and learned a lot ... but wouldn't do it again. Tools like Ulysses exist for a reason, and, in this case, feel better suited for a book-length project, especially when it comes time to output to Word or .EPUB. Glad I did it, though! (And the #PKM peeps who followed along gave me LOTS of encouragement.)
