       @Tengrain The thing with deSantis is - when people voted for Trump, they'd never seen him govern, so thought all the wilder fears the left had, were ridiculous. Now we all know better.deSantis is laying out his governing record for all to examine, and it's not going to play well with the whole country because they already rejected ridiculous authoritarianism as played by Trump. And he has no one mitigating his worst instincts. People in Florida either love it or don't care, but the USA won't.

       @anathema_device @Tengrain Florida has a toxic stew of people who fled the Northeast to avoid taxes, unreconstructed white racists, and a Cuban community made up mostly of the descendants of Batista's supporters. That's not replicable in America proper.
