       @webmink it's just too bad they didn't the language quite right (commercial vs. proprietary). We need policy makers who get this stuff. Wonder if we'll ever see a flood of #FOSS devs stepping up into political roles. I suspect the set of FOSS devs/advocates who would willingly enter the political fray is vanishingly small.

       @webmink @Cosmic_Ray that's the principle upon which consumer protection is usually based- eg reforms in automobile safety after Ralph Nader in 1960s. Can you imagine telling consumers that they could have seat belts as an added extra if they paid for them? But that's how internet seems to work!
